What to Expect for Easter at LCC

Not sure what to expect at a church service on Easter?    No worries – at Lutheran Church of the Cross, we welcome everybody and hope you will feel comfortable and inspired by our contagious Easter joy! Whether you come dressed to the nines or in Bermuda shorts and a floral shirt, you will find a friendly handshake and a smile from the moment you gather with us.

For Easter, we are offering three very different ways to celebrate Christ’s resurrection, along with two different free breakfast opportunities.

At 7:00 a.m., before the sun breaks, we will gather outside around a bonfire waiting to shout Alleluia! to the risen Son while the dawn breaks. Bring a chair if you can (we will have some available if you forget) and look for the big fire on the lawn in front of the church. This Sonrise service is followed by a continental breakfast served on the Coffee Patio.

Then at 9:00 a.m., for those who prefer a more traditional worship experience, we will go indoors for the Festival Easter Worship, pulling out all the stops with music by the LCC vocal choir, LCC bell choir, and a brass quartet. A full Easter breakfast will follow the service at 10:00 a.m.

And the celebrating continues at 10:30 a.m. where we will offer our Family-Friendly Worship service in Fellowship Hall. While the praise band plays, kids can color, continue to enjoy the breakfast and just be kids. A very special Easter Egg Hunt will be included in the service, so make sure the kiddos know about it!

Holy Communion will be offered at all three services, and all are invited to participate. A full self-service nursery is available, and the kids will be invited during the message to follow our teachers out for their own storytime with crafts during both the traditional and family worship services. Overflow parking is available behind the church. Greeters can help with locations for your needs. Handicap access is from the front main entrance off Chancellor Street.

So grab your Easter bonnet (or not!), grab the kiddos (or kids, grab your parents!) and gather with us to celebrate the best news ever. We guarantee you will be fed, with breakfast goodies, with Communion, and with the contagious joy of the friendly folks at LCC.
