1 Corinthians 12:4-7;11:”There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.”
LCC has been blessed by many volunteers whose heart for service has led them to do ‘behind the scenes’ work so that we may enjoy a beautiful worship experience. It’s hard to appreciate just how much work goes into making Sunday morning feel effortless. Flowers are ordered, choirs are practiced, linens are washed and replaced, communion is set out, ushers, greeters and communion assistants are organized, and then there is the clean up after the service is completed. And this is just a small part of what it takes to make our Sunday mornings worshipful.
Today we are saying a very heartfelt thank you to Alaine Mussett who is ‘retiring’ from her leadership role on the Worship and Music Ministry Team and Altar Guild after her long tenure in these roles. Alaine’s efforts in organizing and doing the jobs mentioned above have resulted in beautiful decor. Alaine has also been a member of our choir, lending her voice to enhance our musical experience. She has a small team to help getting all these tasks done, but you can see Alaine stepping in whenever the need arises.
Thank you, Alaine, for all you do and sharing your gifts and talents with us! You leave a legacy of excellence and grace and we all thank God for you and your family.
