Dear Fellow LCC Congregant,
It is hard to believe that just one year ago, Hurricanes Helene and Milton left much of our church facilities severely damaged and significantly disrupted our church programs. While we were able to resume most of our church programs early in the recovery, the full restoration of our damaged church property has dominated much of 2025 and, thankfully, is now essentially complete.
And despite the financial hardships and uncertainties experienced by several congregants due to the hurricanes, we have been able to continue all the ministries and programs that we budgeted for 2025. Accordingly, on behalf of the entire Stewardship Ministry Team, I would like to thank you for your generous financial support of LCC over this past year. Your offerings have helped make possible the continued development of our many great ministries and positioned us well for the future.
While restoring our church property, we were able to use our insurance reimbursements to “make lemonade out of lemons” – to build back for a better future – making several significant improvements to our entry areas, offices, youth room, nursery, and Fellowship Hall, including the kitchen. Appropriately, these building renewals coincide with our church’s 60th Anniversary and are effectively a rededication of our wonderful church facilities that continue to serve us so well.
In the coming year, we plan to continue this same spirit of rededication to our church and its ministries and commit to building back for a better future with our programs and ministries that serve our congregation and the community. Initiatives already underway include enhancements to our website, social media, and audio-visual presentations. We are committed to continuing to build for the future and meet the evolving needs of our ministries and programs with appropriate funding as needed.
As we approach the end of this year, we need to consider our stewardship commitments to God through LCC in 2026. To facilitate our financial and operational planning to build back for a better future in the upcoming year, we are requesting from you a Commitment Card that indicates your intended financial stewardship for 2026. The pledges we receive provide the essential foundation on which we build our operating budget each year. For the Council to know where we can allocate our resources, we need to have a firm idea of the funds that we can expect to receive.
Please give prayerful thought to your support of God’s work at LCC in the coming year as we continue to build back for a better future, and I trust that you will be able to help us meet our financial needs. Your continued support of our church will be most welcome and deeply appreciated.
In Christ,
Chris Comstock
Financial Secretary of LCC
