VBS Wrap Up 2024

Our kids had a great time this week diving into SCUBA VBS!

About 45 of them participated each day, going from station to station as they discovered how God is the best friend ever.

Each day began with opening worship, where they enjoyed rockin’ praise songs and were introduced to the Bible verse and lesson of the day. At the end of the day, the lessons were reinforced in the closing worship, which included more music and interactive lessons and skits.

Between the opening and closing worship sessions, the students rotated through four different stations. These included:

  • Imagination Station, where the kids learned the lessons of the days through science experiments and observations. Even the adult leaders learned a thing or two!
  • Sticky Scriptures, where videos were shown and activities provided to help the students learn Bible verses and apply them to their lives.
  • Deep Bible Adventures, where the children heard a Bible story each day and then dived deeper into it through teaching and activities.
  • Reef Rec, where the kids learned the Bible story of the day through outdoor games.
  • The children also were treated to snacks at the Tidal Treats station. And these weren’t just any snacks – they fit the themes for each day.

The children & their families also donated to the Clothes for Kids program, and the congregation is invited to join them in donating items through Father’s Day. Boxes for clothing items are found in the narthex and in Fellowship Hall.

Producing a week-long Vacation Bible School doesn’t happen by accident – it takes a large crew of immensely talented and dedicated people to make sure the kids are educated, entertained and most importantly, growing in God’s love. There are too many volunteers to list individually, and we certainly don’t want to leave anyone out, but know that you are very much loved and appreciated, from the director, to the teachers and their assistants, to the crew leaders, youth assistants, kitchen folks, photographer, and set up and clean up crews. Hope we didn’t leave anyone out! You are an amazing group of people and we thank you for being good and faithful servants.
