Preschool Reopening

A “Ray” of sunshine flooded our church and Day School campus last week when the LCC Day School was finally able to have the official ribbon cutting for the re-opening of the Preschool!

Tampa Bay Rays mascots Raymond and DJ Kitty were on hand to help us celebrate this milestone event in the life of our school.

After the hurricanes severely damaged the preschool buildings, the staff, faculty and families came together to support each other as the remediation and rebuilding restored and even improved the facilities. The newly remodeled offices and classrooms make the preschool the perfect place for the little ones to grow, exercise their curiosity and become the wonderful people God created them to be!

Pastor Lisa was delighted to be asked to offer the prayer of rededication. “Our preschool and Day School are a vital part of our shared ministry here at LCC,” she explained, adding, “and it was a blast to hang out with Raymond and DJ Kitty!”

Now that the building is fully operational again, the twos and threes are back where they belong. From the time of the hurricanes until just last week, they were graciously hosted by the First United Methodist Church. A huge THANK YOU goes out to our sisters and brothers over there! And the older preschoolers bunked in with the elementary school, who were also wonderfully gracious hosts.

On the church side of things, we are thiiiiis close to the reopening of our Fellowship Hall. New carpet has been laid, the walls are in and freshly painted, and we now have a door that connects the FH to the Youth Room, making it much easier to facilitate Children’s Time during the Family Worship service. All that remains to be done there are the actual doors themselves and the cabinets. Look for Family Worship to resume in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 9 at 10:45 a.m.!

We have been so blessed to be able to recover from the storms on all sides of the campus, because as the Day School says, we’re stronger together. And we would add, we can also do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
