LCC Offers Helping Hand

LCC Offers Helping Hand
When all seems lost, God has a wonderful way of working through the kindness of others to
bring hope. And that is exactly what happened when Hurricane Idalia flooded our Shore Acres
community. So many people lost so much as the waters rose. From replaceable but expensive
things like carpets and furniture and walls, to irreplaceable items like photographs and
mementos, the waters tried to drown the spirits of the community. Make no mistake, it was hard
for these affected families, but in the midst of the devastation, LCC has risen to the challenge.
Through the amazing generosity of 22 of our congregant families, our church has received
$14,750 in contributions for the Hurricane Idalia Recovery Fund. It has allowed us to provide
eight $1,000 grants to church members, LCCDS teachers and members of the community.
There are still funds available to help, and we encourage church members and day school
teachers who have not yet applied for assistance to do so as soon as possible. We also hope to
offer additional grants in the future to those who have already received help.
If you would like to contribute to this fund, please make your check payable to the church and
mark Hurricane Recovery in the memo line. And a huge thank you to those of you who have
already given. Together, we can drive back the waters of adversity and offer hope and help to flood victims.
