During Worship
Each week, children, youth and adults are encouraged to come together around Word, song, and Sacrament to hear from God, be nourished by the gifts of grace, and be sent into the week in faith and service. Children are welcome to be in worship with their parents and participate fully in the service.
Youth are welcome to provide leadership through various aspects of the service as acolytes, readers/lectors, ushers, assistant ministers or sound/projection assistants.
Children’s Time is currently suspended

The Children’s Education Team recently assembled and delivered 40 LENT-AND-EASTER-IN-A-BOX boxes to LCC’s Sunday school children, from preschoolers through those in 5th grade.
Some of the information and projects included in these boxes are these:
- Family Lenten devotional with Bible references and a calendar leading to Easter, all to coordinate with a Lenten cross craft and LED candles
- Projects designed for outreach to friends and neighbors, such as supplies to make cards, a SHMILY activity (See How Much I Love You) and an Abundance Inventory, directions to fold palm crosses, bookmarks
- Various fun and informational worksheets and word searches with Lent and Easter themes
- Crafts to highlight and promote LCC’s Lent World Hunger Relief project, buying chicks and roosters, global barnyard banks, stickers, coloring books
- Recipes for family baking and teaching: Palm Sunday Pretzels, Easter Story Cookies, Hot Cross Buns, Chicken Food
- Food for eating and learning: Jelly Bean Prayers, Pretzel Butterflies
- Supplies for growing Indoor Flower Gardens in pebbles from bulbs
We have heard from a number of families who are grateful for these boxes. We have a list of other people who have expressed their appreciation for having received Advent and Lent/Easter boxes and mailings since we started to communicate with our Sunday school kids through mailings and boxes, beginning in April, 2020.
