Welcome, visitors! Before you worship with us for the first time, you may be wondering...
-Which service should I attend? We offer two service styles: New Traditions (8:15 & 9:30 a.m.) is based on the traditional Lutheran style of worship and includes scripture readings, hymns, sermon, prayers, children's message, communion, offering, and musical offerings. Hymns and music for this service are from the past and the present- you will definitely know some hymns and possibly learn some new ones! The choir, bell choirs, and organ provide most of the music for these two services. Praise & Presence (10:45 a.m.) is a less "structured" type of service and includes praise & worship songs, sermon, children's message, prayers, and communion. Our praise band leads the worship for this service. Bulletins are available at all services and all texts are projected onto our overhead screens as well.
-What should I wear? The Florida lifestyle here in St. Petersburg is pretty laid back! Some folks at LCC maintain the tradition of dressing up for church on Sunday but you will see many people in more casual clothes (even shorts!) especially at 10:45.
- Am I expected to give? We take an offering at every worship service here at LCC because regular giving is taught here as a biblical principle and is expected of our members. The offerings we receive finance the many ministries of the church here at LCC, around the country and even around the world. However, as a visitor, please don't feel pressured to give until you are ready- just pass the plates along!
-I'm not sure I want to send the kids to Sunday School yet. Please feel free to observe any Sunday School class with your child. Any usher or greeter can answer questions for you and would be glad to show you around our campus.
-I'd like to take some information with me when I leave...please visit the Information Station, located in the lobby. There is a Hospitality Team member there every Sunday morning who can answer questions and point you in the right direction.
